I have no idea what I want, but I know exactly what I’m looking for.

Making room
for questions.
I write, direct and develop projects across theatre, performance and film.
Many of these take shape through WER IST JACK, a platform I founded with Kumi Umamoto and Sven Carl Gusowski in Berlin in 2012.
I work with recurring and new collaborators. Text, music, movement and space become ways of exploring how people meet, present themselves and live alongside one another. Sometimes the audience shares the space with the performers and chooses where to stand.
After four years developing film projects, I’m returning to theatre with new questions about shared authorship, access and what it means to make room for others.
About and Beyond the Edge
Can a performed situation make room for something that has no place in everyday life?
Bea thinks she is looking for a play. In fact, she is looking for a beginning.
As rehearsals, daily life and her own writing become intertwined, her artistic project becomes a space where something unexpected can happen.
Original title: EIN STÜCK ÜBER DEN RAND
Written and directed by Christian David Fischer
Produced by WER IST JACK · Co-produced by VAGABUND FILM
Das Grosse Halbe
An encounter between self-presentation, ambition and the possibilities of being together.
Precise choreography meets improvisation and music. The audience chooses its position in the space. As the performance unfolds, its carefully constructed order begins to fall apart — until, in the fog, another kind of utopia becomes possible.

Questions can be more productive than answers.
Inspire rather than instruct. Unsettle rather than provoke.
It is never too late for a utopia.
